Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced more than two months ago the launch of its first handset powered by the Maemo 5 operating system, and failed to deliver it to the market until now, although a series of launch dates for the handheld came and gone. Officially, the high-end Maemo 5-powered device has started to ship today, and users in Europe, Middle East, Russia and North America are those who will soon be able to enjoy it.

There has been a lot of frustration among users due to the fact that Nokia delayed the launch of its N900 Internet Tablet, yet now enthusiasts can finally learn that they will grab the new device and benefit from its capabilities very soon. According to a recent post on Nokia Conversations, the handset will be priced at around 500 Euros SIM-free, yet it will also be available through various carriers, which means that users will have the possibility to enjoy it at subsidized prices.
